Surviving and Succeeding as a Start-up during Recession
With the thought of economic climate holding an important place in the mind of investors, it is important to remember that economic recession may not necessarily mean doom for your start-up business. In fact many companies did considerably well during the economic downturns. I believe it is easier to make a place for yourself when competition has given up. All you need is a winning attitude!
Given below are key points that a start-up should follow in order to survive and grow through recession:

· Entrepreneurs should run their business being aware of the time they are in. They must be mindful about the changing business environment around them and should prepare to deal with the bad time in advance.
· A start-up should prepare a strong business strategy to get high ROI and in turn interest of investors. Of course it is not as easy as getting a bespoke business suit, but the efforts make you different from others.
· An entrepreneur should have the capability of convincing investors that there is a market for their product, people who will be with them regardless of the economic climate.
· A start-up business is comparatively new to the market and there is more likelihood that its business model is new and is designed in accordance with the current market scenario. So, the chances of a start up getting affected by recession is really low

The most important thing to succeed as a start-up is to know and invest in elements that are easily available or possibly ‘on sale'due to recession. A number of companies may start offering products at very low prices and this is the opportunity which start-ups should take to create added ability to contain costs. This gives you ample time and scope to deal with both your competition and finance. While these points may not be the sure-shot way to get success, but they have worked really well for start-ups who eventually turned out to be business giants today.
